BIOGRAPHY Dr. Richter is vivacious and full of life. Students who have taken her courses have written many, many letters of the effect she has had on their lives. Dr. Francine Richter is an Associate Professor of Literature at Sul Ross State University: Rio Grande College and has spent a career life-coaching students to personal and professional success. Francine teaches all upper-level literature courses in person and on-line across the several counties that Rio Grande College covers. She has always struggled to bring a humanistic approach to learning. Francine earned a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth before accepting a position in Southwest Texas. In a dissertation on Texas writer John Graves' novel Goodbye to a River, Francine explored the classical elements in the work, focusing on the use of female imagery to portray the male experience with nature. While music and academia were her first calling, Francine has always believed that teaching is about dispelling myths for students and guiding them to become fully themselves. In her classes she incorporates life with learning, literature with humanity, with an emphasis on non-duality. Her goal is to create an atmosphere where all feel equal and unself-conscious. She values above all else the bonds we build with other humans and teaches that life is just a learning experience. Each participant in her workshops will leave feeling a deep sense of calm and renewal. For more information e-mail Dr. Richter at: frichter2@stx.rr.com

Dr. Francine K. Richter and Butterscotch
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." |
